WilliamTrades ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at williamtrades.com and provides online trading education courses. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information about visitors and customers ("you").

Via Gumroad webhook: When you complete a purchase on Gumroad, Gumroad automatically sends us your email address, order number, and product name via a secure server-to-server webhook. We use the product name to determine your plan tier. We do not receive your payment details.
Via course access: When you enter your order number to access the course, our system generates a device fingerprint from your browser and hardware characteristics. This fingerprint is immediately hashed (converted to an anonymised string) and stored. We never store the raw fingerprint data.
Via email: If you contact us at support@williamtrades.com, we receive and store the contents of your message and your email address for the purpose of responding to your enquiry.
We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:

Your data is stored in a Supabase database (hosted on secure cloud infrastructure). Supabase uses industry-standard encryption for data at rest and in transit. Access to the database is restricted by API key authentication and is not publicly accessible.

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
To enforce our 2-device access limit and protect course content from being shared, our platform uses browser-based device fingerprinting when you log in with your order number.
A device fingerprint is generated from a combination of signals available in your browser — such as screen resolution, browser type, installed fonts, and hardware characteristics. This data is processed locally in your browser and converted into a single anonymised hash string before being sent to our servers.
We never store your raw fingerprint signals. Only the resulting hash is stored, and it cannot be reverse-engineered to recover your original device data.
This fingerprint is used exclusively to determine whether your device has been previously registered and to enforce the 2-device limit per order. It is not used for tracking, advertising, or any other purpose.
The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in protecting our intellectual property and preventing unauthorised access to paid content.
Our website uses localStorage (a browser storage mechanism) to remember your authentication state between sessions — specifically, to keep you logged in to the course so you do not need to re-enter your order number every visit.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics scripts. Google Fonts are loaded from Google's servers, which may result in Google receiving your IP address as part of the standard font request. We have no control over Google's data practices; refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details.

We retain your order record (order number, email, plan tier, and device identifiers) for as long as your course access remains active. Because our licenses are lifetime, this means we retain your data for as long as WilliamTrades operates.
If you request deletion of your data (see Section 11), we will remove your personal information from our database within 30 days. Please note that deleting your data will permanently revoke your course access, as we will no longer be able to verify your purchase.
Support emails are retained for a reasonable period to maintain records of communications and are deleted when no longer needed.
